We offer Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) for treatment of substance use disorders and addiction issues. IOP allows clients to seek treatment while working, going to school, or meeting family obligations.
We believe that using substances is often a person’s best attempt to cope with difficult life circumstances. We approach treatment from a non-judgmental perspective to help each person feel connected while gaining understanding of themselves, and paving a new way. Our IOP is designed to help anyone find lasting recovery, healing, and connection.
Intensive Outpatient Programs are an important component of the continuum of care for substance use disorders. IOPs can be as effective as inpatient treatment, what many people think of as traditional “rehab,” for most individuals seeking care.
IOP provides 3 hours a day of clinical treatment a minimum of 3 days per week for those who would benefit from more support for their mental health and/or substance use concerns than a weekly outpatient therapy appointment can provide. Our IOP offers weekly one-on-one therapy sessions, family support, skills, and process groups. The schedule and program is customized based on each person’s needs and schedule. Our objective is to assist each person in tailoring a program and schedule that supports them in achieving their desired outcomes. The length of stay depends upon the person’s goals, number of attended program days per week, and progress; however, the average length of stay is approximately 6-8 weeks. We offer programming throughout the day and evening to help accommodate a variety of scheduling needs
Ask about our specialized track for veterans and first responders. We understand that the treatment needs for veterans and first responders differs from that of the general population, and are committed to helping these people find community and connection as they heal.
We offer space for members and Alumni to connect via Alumni groups. These are regular drop-in support groups to provide space for people who have been through our program to stay connected, and maintain the positive changes they achieved. We ask that those who choose to attend do so sober, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. These meetings provide safe space for Alumni to share their struggles and successes among peers who can relate, empathize, and provide support.
Included for our clients are family and friends support & educational groups for family members and other support persons to attend. These groups are intended to assist family members in better understanding and supporting their loved one’s change process.

Intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) is a type of addiction treatment program that allows individuals to receive therapy and support while living at home. Unlike residential treatment, IOP does not require patients to stay overnight at a facility. This type of outpatient therapy is ideal for those who need a structured treatment program but also have responsibilities at work, school, or home.
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) typically require more hours of therapy each week compared to standard outpatient treatment. While a standard outpatient program might involve one or two sessions per week, IOPs usually involve multiple therapy sessions each week, including group therapy, individual counseling, and sometimes family counseling.
The duration and frequency of sessions in an outpatient treatment program can vary. Typically, patients might attend sessions 3-5 times per week, with each session lasting 2-4 hours. The overall duration of the program can range from a few weeks to several months, depending on individual needs and progress.
Intensive outpatient programs often include a variety of therapies such as group therapy, individual therapy, family counseling, and sometimes medication management. These programs aim to address substance abuse and related issues through comprehensive and tailored treatment plans.
Group therapy provides patients with peer support, allowing them to share experiences and learn from others facing similar challenges. It fosters a sense of community and accountability, which can be crucial for recovery. Group therapy sessions in IOPs typically range from 1 to 2 hours.
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a more intensive form of outpatient treatment where patients attend therapy for several hours each day, typically 5-7 days a week. PHPs offer a higher level of care than IOPs but still allow patients to return home in the evenings. They are designed for individuals who need more structured treatment than IOP but do not require 24/7 supervision.
Yes, many outpatient treatment programs include medication management as part of their services. This involves regular consultations with healthcare professionals to ensure that medications are being used effectively as part of the overall treatment plan.
Family counseling is often a key component of intensive outpatient programs. These sessions help to address the impact of addiction on family dynamics, improve communication, and build a supportive home environment for recovery.
During an outpatient therapy session, patients can expect to engage in discussions and activities designed to help them understand and overcome their addiction. Sessions may include cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention strategies. The goal is to provide ongoing support and skills for maintaining sobriety.
Outpatient programs, including intensive outpatient treatment, can be highly effective in treating substance abuse, especially for individuals who have a strong support system at home and are motivated to recover. Success rates improve when patients actively participate in the program and follow through with recommended aftercare plans.
